๐Ÿถ Stumbled on a pup without their person? Take a breath โ€” most lost dogs get home safely. Just follow these steps in order.

1

Stay Calm & Go Slow

Crouch down, speak softly, and let the dog come sniff your hand first. No sudden moves or chasing โ€” a scared dog may run.

2

Keep the Dog Safe

If you have a leash, spare lead, or even a belt, gently secure the dog and move away from roads, trails, and traffic.

3

Check for a Collar or Tag

Look for a name tag, phone number, or rabies tag. If there's a number, call it right away โ€” that's the fastest way home!

4

No Tag? Call for Help

Use the big buttons below to reach animal control or the local shelter. They can look up microchips and know who's reported a missing pup.

5

Spread the Word

Post a photo in your local Facebook lost & found group so nearby neighbors can help too.

6

Stay With the Pup

If it's safe, wait nearby (in the shade, with some water) until help arrives, so the dog isn't alone and scared.
